mesl bolbol/like a nightingale is a years-long project towards developing an interdisciplinary performance piece based on my experience of learning my heritage language farsi in my mid-20s. “mesl bolbol” is an idiom in farsi that literally translates to “like a nightingale,” and is used to describe someone who speaks fluently or eloquently.
